Lofotkraft AS is a regional energy group with operations throughout Lofoten.

The power station is located by the E10 motorway at Mølnarodden on Moskenesøy.
Solbjørn Power Station was built in the early 1950s. At the time, it was planned to build two generators, but only one was installed.

The plant must be able to be started from a "black station" and be able to be operated in high operation, where Solbjørn power plant will be coordinated with two other power stations.
