OneCo infrastructure ensures safe drinking water for Oslo
With a cost framework of NOK 27 billion, this is one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Norwegian history.
The City of Oslo will ensure safe and secure drinking water for the city's inhabitants by building an adequate reserve water supply that can meet both current needs and expected population growth. This is one of the largest and most complex projects in Norwegian history, with a cost framework of NOK 27 billion.
The project involves a 19-kilometre raw water tunnel from Holsfjorden to Huseby in Oslo, as well as a state-of-the-art water treatment plant that will be able to supply the entire city's population with clean drinking water. The water treatment plant will be built under Husebyskogen and connected to the existing water supply system to ensure a safe and stable water supply.

OneCo is part of the alliance agreement between the City of Oslo (client), AF Gruppen (main contractor) and Multiconsult (consultant). As a contract assistant to the AF Group and the alliance, we are responsible for delivering comprehensive electrical works and technical installations. This includes deliveries and services within high voltage, low voltage, telecoms and automation.
The project has a strong focus on sustainability and environmental measures, in line with the City of Oslo's goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 95 % by 2030. All construction sites are fossil-free, with strict requirements for the use of electric and biofuel-powered machines. In addition, electric tunnel boring machines, electric loaders and conveyor belts are used in the tunnel to further reduce emissions. The project also focuses on the reuse of materials and the use of low-carbon concrete.
