Nes Municipality starts pilot project with OneCo MultiSensor

Nes Municipality wanted sensors that provide extra security and fewer false alarms. They have now taken a pioneering step in health and care technology by starting Norway's first pilot project with OneCo MultiSensor. The innovative solution is designed to increase safety for residents and patients in institutions, while reducing false alarms and freeing up time for healthcare professionals.

What is OneCo MultiSensor?

OneCo MultiSensor combines advanced artificial intelligence and sensor technology to detect movement and recognise unusual events such as falls or the need for assistance. Mounted discreetly in the ceiling, the sensor analyses the surroundings and sends alerts to caregivers when needed - without the resident having to carry or activate anything themselves. This sets a new standard for dignity and safety in everyday life.

Why did Nes Municipality choose this solution?

According to Kenneth Fagerheim, Health and Care Advisor at Nes Municipality, the municipality has long recognised the need for a solution for elderly people who, for various reasons, do not want or cannot use traditional security alarms.

"We therefore want to try out OneCo MultiSensor, which is based on artificial intelligence and works almost like an automatic security alarm. I strongly believe that this solution will help to provide a high degree of security, both for the residents and their families."

How does the technology work?

The sensor is equipped with software based on artificial intelligence. It is thus trained to identify predefined scenarios, such as falls. When such events are recognised, a text alert is sent to healthcare professionals - without compromising privacy. This makes it possible to provide a fast and effective response while keeping sensitive information protected.

A step towards proactive care

OneCo MultiSensor provides insight into residents' health through analyses of activity and rest patterns. This data-driven approach allows for more personalised care plans and better resource utilisation. The way forward is to implement proactive measures that can improve both quality of life and efficiency in the healthcare sector. Read more about how we work with health technology to improve care.
